The idea that has become Sharon’s Hemp Creams crystallized when I visited the Honey Shack and learned more about honey, bees, beeswax and so much more. My husband, Larry and I have been working in the cannabis world for over 4 years. We do real estate development and project management for a variety of cannabis ventures, grows, processing, dispensaries, edible kitchens, and labs. We had been exploring potential businesses that might grow out of our experience and connections. We were intrigued by the potential that Hemp presented. We had seen many aspects of pain relief and calming effects from hemp We were especially intrigued by the use of hemp.. Hemp is legal throughout the world.. We had experienced the relief that it gave to our very well-loved dogs. At this time we were working with a security contractor named Matt Lake, who subsequently became our primary security systems supplier. After working together for about a year, Matt asked us to visit his home, site of the Honey Shack. Welcome to the Honey Shack where it all began... The Honey Shack is a local Mecca for all things honey, an astounding variety of honeys from local wildflowers, berries and grasses in addition to baked goods, goat milk, etc. This is an open door, serve yourself shop, with the rare, but wonderful, honor system pay and checkout. What makes this spot even more marvelous is its amazing food bank which offers free food to the locals in need and gets wonderful donations in kind.
This all takes place at the Lake Family Farm in the beautiful Rogue River Valley, run by Matt and Ann Lake with the work crew of their kids, family and friends. The farm is a virtual petting zoo, abounding with goats, pigs, chickens and rabbits… And they are BEEKEEPERS! |
